Are Indian companies prepared to fulfill the spirit as well as the letter of the 2015 SEBI Listing Regulations requiring separation of the roles of CEO and board chair?

The separation of these roles can assist better governance only if boards consciously ensure the segregation of powers tied to these offices and allow ample supervisory powers to the chair, taking a cue from other jurisdictions where chairs of the board are endowed with much more power than their Indian counterparts.
