The Conference Board Economics Watch® Emerging Markets View

While improved exports and small-scale policy support in the second quarter helped growth recovery in some of the key emerging economies, overall economic outlook for emerging markets remains cautious for the second half of 2014. Export growth continued to improve in the beginning of the third quarter,  supporting manufacturing recovery. However, it may not last given weaker projections for mature markets and slowing growth in China. Our projection for the global GDP growth for 2014 was downwardly revised – a result to a large extent from weakening in Brazil and Russia
