Overall growth performance in emerging markets remains subpar in H2 ‘14, despite some stabilization in their manufacturing sectors. While policy support and slightly improved exports may help support growth into H2 ’14, domestic demand remains sluggish and most emerging markets continue to face significant downside risks. Moreover, slower-than-expected growth in mature economies can dampen emerging markets’ already-fragile economic recovery. Given the high level of uncertainty, it is important to trace key trends affecting emerging markets’ long-term growth, identify key risks, and develop growth scenarios to help organizations plan their investment and operations more strategically.
