The 2012 Onboarding Leadership Conference KeyNotes Report

Onboarding is the mechanism through which new employees acquire the knowledge, skills, and behaviors to become effective organization members, is about transition. For onboarding to work, it needs to be relevant to disparate circumstances, more thorough than a mere orientation, paced to match the minds and moods of employees, and structured in such a way that it can be integrated into other corporate functions and its effects measured. But be sure not to overwhelm new hires. Too much information too fast can overwhelm employees, so be sure to conduct their introduction to the company at a sensible and humane pace.
