Sustainability Practices: 2012 Edition

This report analyzes the most recent disclosure of environmental and social practices by the 3,000 U.S. and non-U.S. public companies that compose the Bloomberg ESG 3000 index. The report covers 72 environmental and social practices—encompassing atmospheric emissions, water consumption, biodiversity policies, labor standards, human rights practices, and charitable and political contributions. For each practice, the report illustrates the percentage of companies disclosing on it and the median performance in the sample. The report compares the Bloomberg ESG 3000 index with the S&P 500 and the Russell 1000 and further analyzes across 11 business sectors and four revenue groups.
