The 2012 Leadership Development Conference KeyNotes Report

The future is already here, but it is unevenly distributed. By 2021, everyone 25 and under will be a digital native, and this new generation will require new practices of engagement. Universities, schools, and companies only have a few years to prepare for the entry of this group into their institutions. Because of this new generation, the “digital divide” will become very different, as even the poor will have some access to new technology. Outside of the United States, emerging economies will have similar generations that will “leap frog” into newer technologies.
