Taking Offshoring to the Next Level: The 2009 Offshoring Research Network Corporate Client Survey Report

Taking Offshoring to the Next Level, which is based on the 2009 edition of a survey of offshoring professionals conducted by the Offshoring Research Network of the Duke University Center for International Business Education and Research, provides an overview of how the practices associated with various forms of outside sourcing have changed over time. For example, it offers evidence of how companies that offshore innovation practices are no longer driven by cost cutting, but by enhancing innovation and increasing speed to market. In addition to a discussion of the growth of innovation offshoring, the report examines a move away from captive operations in some sectors, the effects of global sourcing on domestic employment, and the changing geography of offshoring.
