Directors' Compensation and Board Practices in 2007

New rules released by the SEC give companies more direction regarding form and content of executive and director compensation information. Narrative and tabular information goes well beyond what was required in the past. This report examines the broader issues by examining compensation data across industry and company size groupings. The report takes a look at cash retainers for board members, total compensation, compensation mix (e.g., cash, stock, and stock options), and compensation for serving on or chairing a major board committee (e.g., audit, compensation, or nominating). Data has been categorized according to 22 industries and 10 company revenue groups.
