Workforce Readiness Initiative

What is the appropriate role of business in improving workforce readiness? While improving workforce readiness is the job of both the private and public sectors, businesses can: use their bully pulpit and speak with a unified voice to drive change in national policy and societal norms; support change on the “front lines”—at the local and state levels where they are significant employers and can directly engage with teachers, community group educators, legislators, and policymakers; and encourage employees as agents of change within schools and school districts, and as life-long learners themselves.
