On the Record With ... Dr. Gerhard Cromme

Dr. Gerhard Cromme, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, ThyssenKrupp AG, Düsseldorf, Germany says he fights an ongoing battle with the short-term mindset of investment analysts. Says Cromme: “If we would have followed all the advice we got three, four, five years ago from the analysts and from the financial community, I can tell you our company would no longer be here.” Better use of technology is one way Cromme believes the developed world can combat the advantage of lower production costs in China, Asia and Eastern Europe.
