While it is too early to determine the ultimate scope of the A(H1N1) influenza pandemic, a comparison to the 2003 SARS outbreak shows the economic impact may be short-lived and will not significantly alter long-term trends in global macro economic activity. But only time, and the final course of the current pandemic, will determine the depth of any economic damage.
