Past research by The Conference Board has confirmed that having the right talent is essential for creating and maintaining a culture of innovation. But employers have expressed serious concerns about finding the right hires, preparing new employees for the workplace, and identifying the skills critical to supporting a culture of innovation within a company. To find out if businesses and schools agree on the importance of a creative workforce and the efforts needed to encourage its development, The Conference Board and Americans for the Arts, in association with the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), conducted a survey of executives and school superintendents. Ready to Innovate: Are Educators and Executives Aligned on the Creative Readiness of the U.S. Workforce? presents the results from this survey and offers an overview of the current efforts both communities are making to encourage creativity in schools and workplaces. |
