This update examines the current state of company HIV/AIDS programs around the world with particular attention to efforts of firms in areas of high prevalence or growth, such as Sub-Saharan Africa and other developing nations.

It explores various program drivers and characteristics based on global survey responses from 134 health-benefits and human-resources directors and insights from in-sight interviews with directors of company HIV and AIDS programs and attorneys specializing in disability and HIV/AIDS law.

The report reveals some useful trends, best practices, benefits and challenges that executives from around the world have encountered in their efforts to tackle the HIV/AIDS needs of their employees.

This report is a follow-up to The Conference Board's first report on the corporate response to HIV/AIDS published in 1997. It has been undertaken in support of the Clinton Foundation's HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI).
