Biography
Xiaohui (Janet) Hao
Dr. Hao is a macro-economist with Economics Program of The Conference Board, who specializes in assessing the impact of intangible assets on economic conditions. Specifically, she is currently working on a project sponsored by the European Union, which seeks to measure how intangible assets contribute to economic growth in Europe. Dr. Hao also works with top macro-economists in the U.S. to determine what effect intangible assets have on the stock prices of American firms.
Prior to joining The Conference Board, Dr. Hao earned her Ph.D. in economics in 2007 from the University of Maryland, College Park. While studying there, she wrote a dissertation examining how highways promoted trade and development in U.S. metropolitan areas, and taught courses in economic statistics for two years. As an undergraduate at the Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing, she wrote several papers regarding the impact of Chinese economic reforms on small-and-medium-sized enterprises during the 1990s.
