Executive Compensation: Companies Must Act Now

CEO Jonathan Spector has called on companies to help restore public trust by endorsing and implementing the principles outlined by The Conference Board Task Force on Executive Compensation.

"The most important regulatory reform debate in generations has begun, and we all know that new regulation from Congress is coming," Spector said in remarks to Tuesday's annual meeting of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) in New York. "While the government has an important role to play in modernizing our regulatory frameworks, trust in our corporate institutions can only be fully restored if private sector institutions themselves take meaningful action."
