Innovation Workshop Sessions

Session 2: Developing Relevant, Useful Content (Breakout sessions):

Goals, Approach and Outcomes

The goal is to get the attendees to identify the three most important/exciting/ transformative questions to be asked in a study of organizations that can advance the science of science and innovation policy. The questions are to be research questions strategic topics such as innovation and technical change, globalization, management practices, workplace practices, and impact of federal policies.

The approach is to break the attendees into three groups. The organizers will appoint a "facilitator" who will guide the discussion in each group. They will also provide an observer who will be responsible for summarizing the discussion.

The outcome is i) feedback for subsequent sessions and ii) information for the white paper. One organizer and the summarizing observer from each group will spend the next session preparing the top three research questions. The results will be posted as a powerpoint display available during lunch.
