Research Council on Employee Benefits
The Benefits function has risen in prominence in recent years as spiraling healthcare costs and pension issues have become critical areas for corporations doing business in the US. Balanced against the need to keep expenses under control is the wellbeing of employees, while facing the scrutiny of the press and the public. Additionally, Washington's response to these issues is an ongoing process. Facing all of these factors, Benefits executives have a critical need to stay abreast of what other organizations are doing on a day-to-day basis. The Conference Board’s Employee Benefits Councils stay in constant contact via e-mail exchanges, surveys, and via postings on the Members Only Web site. The biannual meetings add the opportunity for intensive and detailed exchanges of strategy and philosophy as well as specific tools for improving the Benefits practice.
