Inclusive Leadership (IL) is about relationships that can accomplish things for mutual benefit. Reaching leadership at this next level means “doing things with people, rather than to people,” which is the essence of inclusion. Improving decision making and achieving desired ends are among its goals, without relying on one person’s capabilities alone. It also provides an atmosphere that promotes fairness of input and output to all. (Hollander, Edwin. Inclusive Leadership: The Essential Leader-Follower Relationship. New York: Routledge, 2009. Print.)
Leaders of global organizations know that to continue to grow their businesses, to continue to create cultures that attract and retain diverse talent, and to sustain desirable progress, they need to enable inclusive leadership. They also know that whether they do business globally or domestically, their current and future talent management requires such leadership. When Leadership and governance is purposeful and driven throughout the organization, it can link to the development of managers who enable their teams and talent to grow. When such development and progress is continuously measured and linked to both quantitative and qualitative metrics, it can endure.
If you attend the annual Corporate Conference you will learn about and focus on the following global strategic planning and operational outcomes:
- Developing global Inclusive leaders who will model the behaviors and actions they desire in others through inspiring others to follow.
- Enabling global advocacy to continuously learn and to model the behaviors shifts in the organization’s culture when needed
- Innovating global approaches to competencies, operations, and governance
