John C. (Jack) Lenzi serves as Vice President, Corporate Responsibility for ITT Corporation and is based in the headquarters offices in White Plains, New York. Accountable to the CEO and Board of Directors, Mr. Lenzi has extensive experience leading and working within large-scale, globally dispersed organizations and diverse employee populations.
Assuming his current role in July 2011, Mr. Lenzi also serves as ITT’s Chief Ethics Officer and is responsible for developing and directing long-term strategies that support the business plan, drive sustainable value creation, and foster an open, transparent corporate culture. The Corporate Responsibility department is a management center of excellence delivering corporate governance initiatives designed to leverage - and embed - best business practices across the organization, minimize cost and enhance risk mitigation.
Practice areas in Corporate Responsibility include Anti-Corruption, Government Affairs, Ethics and Compliance, Environment, Safety, Health and Security, Global Trade Programs, and Environmental Affairs. Each of these disciplines coordinates with business unit leaders and staff to implement focused, LEAN-based value-add strategies enterprise-wide. Mr. Lenzi also has a lead role on ITT’s Sustainability Steering Committee, which guides the corporation in defining, implementing, and reporting on sustainability improvement initiatives.
Mr. Lenzi joined ITT in January 2010 as Director, Corporate Ethics following a year as a private ethics consultant and 15-plus years with Altria Group, Inc. While with Altria Group, he served as one of the company’s Compliance and Integrity Officers from 2003-2008 focusing on human drivers of ethical behaviors, ethical leadership, and enhancing an open, collaborative corporate culture.
Prior to that, Mr. Lenzi held numerous leadership positions, including responsibilities in the United States and in Europe, during his tenure at Altria Group primarily in the corporate affairs and state government relations functions. He previously spent five years in Washington, D.C. managing state government affairs and grassroots initiatives with the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Lenzi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Minnesota and earned his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law. Mr. Lenzi, his wife, daughter and dog live in suburban New York.
