Alex Portilla

Alex Portilla joined Innovation Center Denmark Silicon Valley in 2008 as the Cleantech Advisor and Project Manager where his main focus is helping Danish technology companies take advantage of the unique innovation ecosystem in Silicon Valley. Alex serves as a strategic consultant to clients ranging from large multinational companies searching for cutting edge technology, to established companies entering the US market for the first time, to early stage startups seeking capital and strategic partnerships. Alex has a passion for entrepreneurship and innovation and is dedicated to using business to solve societal challenges such as climate change, access to clean water and energy independence.
Prior to joining ICDK, Alex was a Founder and the Commercial Director in the Brooklyn, NY based Interrupcion* Fair Trade which commercializes organic and fair trade certified food products from South America in North America. Alex grew the company from its foundation to a widely distributed and highly successful, nationally recognized brand and leader in the fair trade movement.
Alex studied International Business and Management and Organizational Behavior at the Stern School of Business at New York University.
