Principal Engineer, Program Director Intel
Rajiv Mongia is a Principal Engineer and is a Program Director in the University Collaboration Office within Intel Labs. He has responsibility for the Social Computing ISTC centered in University of California, Irvine and the Sustainable and Connected Cities Lab centered in London. He obtained his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. Prior to joining Intel, he led a prototyping team in a start-up company developing a microturbine for distributed power generation. He was also a Managing Engineer in a consulting company where he investigated fires and explosions in residential, commercial, and industrial settings from a technical and Human Factors perspective including the 9/11 World Trade Center terrorist attack. At Intel, he has led multiple teams developing and prototyping technologies for evaluation in future client products, including working with Universities and 3rd party vendors. He has also spearheaded the licensing and launch ofadvanced platform technologies with customers. Most recently he led the Rapid Experience Development team within the Perceptual Computing group which focused on developing and evaluating new human-computer interaction, visual computing technologies and user experiences.
