Robert Bear

Rob is Vice President of Environment, Health and Safety for Alcoa's Global Primary Products Business. He is responsible for the strategic direction, policies and standard programs for the Company’s mines, refineries, smelters and power plants with over 20,000 employees in 54 locations operating in 11 countries. Critical programs include fatality prevention and human performance deployment across all operations as well as strategic long-term health and environmental objectives and their integration into business planning. He is also a member of the Corporate Sustainability Steering Team that ensures that the Alcoa’s products and production are aligned with global trends and customer requirements, enhancing the positive impact of aluminum in every market the Company serves. Prior to taking his current position, Rob was Corporate Director of Environmental Affairs and has held several other EHS positions since joining Alcoa in 2000.

Prior to joining Alcoa in 2000, Rob spent 15 years in the environmental engineering and consulting business, providing remediation and site restoration services to industrial clients throughout North America. He’s held several EHS positions at Alcoa before assuming his current duties in 2012. He holds a M.S. degree in Environmental Science and B.S. degree in Microbiology, both from the Pennsylvania State University.
