Ronald A. Williams is the former chairman and CEO of Aetna Inc. Williams served as both chairman and CEO from 2006 to 2010, and as chairman from November 2010 to April 2011. In March 2011, Williams was appointed to President Obama’s Management Advisory Board.
Williams is chairman of the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare, which he currently chairs, and a member of the Connecticut Science Center Board. He is vice chair and a member of the board of trustees of The Conference Board. He is also a member of the board of directors of American Express Company, and vice chairman of The Business Council. At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he serves on the MIT North America executive board. He is a member of the Alfred P. Sloan Management Society, Business Roundtable, the International Federation of Health Plans, the Healthcare Leadership Council, and the National Intelligence Senior Advisory Group.
A graduate of Roosevelt University, Williams holds a M.S. in management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
