Brian Powers is senior fellow, human capital at The Conference Board. In this role, Brian supports the human capital practice, which includes The Conference Board Human Capital Exchange™, research, conferences, webcasts, and programs in a broad spectrum of human capital areas. In addition to serving as a senior fellow, Powers is the founder of The Networked Organization, Ltd.—a consulting practice focusing on the design of innovative and client-specific leadership development, talent management, and HR capability-building solutions that enhance organizational performance. Prior to starting his firm, Powers was in charge of EMC University—the corporate group responsible for leadership development, talent management, and OD at EMC Corporation. In this capacity, he was responsible for using OD methodologies to work with HR and line leaders to leverage the results from the company’s employee satisfaction survey in order to drive increased employee engagement and organizational productivity. Under Brian’s leadership, EMC University was recognized for excellence in the delivery of innovative leadership development and talent management services at EMC—this includes being named Best Overall Corporate University by Corporate University Xchange as well as being in the top 5 in Training magazine’s Top 125 for three straight years. Powers holds a master of education degree from the University of Massachusetts and has earned various certifications from Columbia University in the fields of HR and organization development. |
